Former Miss Earth Philippines Imelda Schweighart might leave the country anytime soon, at least according to her mother who said that they might go back to New Zealand after her daughter had experienced the wrath and unforgiving jabs from online trolls.

She relinquished her crown as Miss Philippines Earth on Monday after Internet users bashed her for criticizing Miss Ecuador. The 21-year-old Schweighart was gunning for an unprecedented third straight Miss Earth crown for the Philippines after Angelia Ong and 2014 titleholder Jamie Herrell but failed miserably.

Imelda Schweighart will go down in modern pageant history as the most controversial national beauty queen

So, before we bask in any dramatic and crazy turn of events, let’s have a rundown of the controversial statements from the current “most hated beauty queen” in the pageant world.

1. Her nasty remarks about the new Miss Earth winner, Katherin Espin of Ecuador, after she failed to advance in the finals at 2016 Miss Earth pageant:

“The winner has fake nose, fake chin and fake boobs. Miss Earth should be natural.”

2. And this was the way she apologized after her “unmindful” statement above:

“If it’s a crime to tell the truth, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to offend Miss Ecuador…I don’t know her enough but she was my roommate.”

3. When she felt offended that the gown, which she’s supposed to wear in case she gets in to the finals, was given to Miss Ecuador:

“Honestly, I’m not bitter. I’m just offended. Why? Because the gown that I was supposed to wear was given to Ecuador. I was just so offended.

4. Shortly after she resigned as Miss Earth Philippines, she posted this on her Facebook account:

“Goodbye stupid peeps!”

5. And finally, the most controversial statement that came out of her mouth happened during one of Miss Earth pre-pageant events broadcast via Facebook Live.

“Our president is doing Hitler stuff in the Philippines.”
