The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will enforce temporary road closures in Manila for the 126th Philippine Independence Day celebration on June 12.

The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6 am to 10 am:

·         Roxas Boulevard– both lanes from T.M. Kalaw to P. Burgos Avenue

·         T.M. Kalaw – from Ma. Orosa to Roxas Boulevard (westbound)

The following roads will be closed from 1 pm to 10 pm:

·         Roxas Boulevard – from United Nations Avenue to P. Burgos Avenue (both lanes)

·         T.M. Kalaw – both lanes from Roxas Boulevard to Taft Avenue

Adjacent roads within Rizal Park and Quirino Grandstand will also be utilized for the occasion.

The MMDA urged motorists to take alternate routes for the duration of the closure.

Those going northbound from Roxas Boulevard may turn right to Quirino Avenue or United Nations Avenue then turn left to Taft Avenue en route to their respective destinations.

For private vehicles going from Radial 10 to Anda Circle, they are advised to turn left to Soriano Avenue then right to Solana Street, turn left to Muralla Street, then go straight to Magallanes Drive, turn right to P. Burgos Avenue to their destinations.

Trucks going northbound and southbound are also advised to take alternative routes: South Luzon Expressway, Osmeña Highway, Quirino Avenue, Nagtahan Street, Lacson Avenue, Yuseco Street, Capulong Street, and Radial 10 Road to their destinations.

The actual closing and opening of affected roads will be based on the traffic situation.

The MMDA will deploy a total of 1,156 personnel in strategic locations, ensuring seamless traffic management.

Additionally, ambulances, military trucks, dump trucks, tow trucks, and other resources will be dispatched.

The celebrations will take place from June 10 to 12 at the Rizal Park Burnham Green right across Quirino Grandstand. Various government agencies and non-government organizations have prepared activities.
