President Marcos expressed optimism that the Year of the Dragon will “bring endless possibilities” for the country.
“This occasion brims with infinite opportunities as we gather to pay homage to the heritage of the dragon, a timeless symbol of power, wisdom, and courage,” Mr. Marcos said in his Chinese New Year message.
“Let us reflect on our accomplishments in the past year, cherishing the triumphs that elevated our spirits and nourished our souls. Let these victories enkindle our enthusiasm and optimism as uplift our communities and steer our nation to greater heights,” he added.
Vice President Sara Duterte, for her part, said the Year of the Wood Dragon is a time to overcome obstacles and pursue “our wildest dreams.”
“As the legend goes, this auspicious creature is a symbol of good fortune and abundance, embodying strength, bravery, and triumph. Let us channel its remarkable qualities to conquer any obstacles that come our way and pursue our wildest dreams,” she said.
Mr. Marcos also noted that while the Wood Dragon brings about good fortune, it is important to remember that “it is only through our firm commitment and resolve that we can transform our dreams into reality.”
“As one diverse yet united community, may we immerse ourselves in the richness of our cultural identity and lay the groundwork for a more peaceful, harmonious, and progressive Philippines. I wish everyone an auspicious and bountiful Chinese New Year,” the President said.
