Majority of Filipinos are satisfied with the performance of President Marcos, the latest “Tugon ng Masa” survey of OCTA Research showed.
The survey showed that 59 percent of Filipinos were “satisfied with the way the nation is being governed by the current administration” – a three percentage point increase from the October 2023 survey results.
At least 14 percent said they were “dissatisfied” while 24 percent were “ambivalent.”
“The percentage of adult Filipinos who are satisfied with the way the nation is being governed by the current administration increased from 56 percent last October 2023 to 59 percent in December 2023. This three-percentage point increase is the first time a rise in performance rating of the current administration has been observed since October 2022,” OCTA said in its December survey.
The administration’s performance rating was highest in the National Capital Region and Visayas, both at 71 percent.
It also received a majority performance rating of 56 percent in Mindanao and 53 percent in Balance Luzon.
“Across major areas, the performance ratings of the current administration increased by 18 percentage points in Visayas and by nine percentage points in NCR,” OCTA said.
“Meanwhile, the performance rating of the current administration decreased by three percentage points in Mindanao and two percentage points in Balance Luzon,” it added.
When it comes to socioeconomic classes, the administration got the highest rating at 66 percent among Class ABC respondents, followed by Class D at 64 percent, and Class E at 40 percent.
The survey also showed the Marcos administration received the highest performance rating from those aged 75 and up (76 percent), followed by those aged 25-34 (74 percent). The lowest satisfaction rating was logged from those aged 18-24 (47 percent).
The survey was conducted from Dec. 10 to 14, with 1,200 adult respondents nationwide. It has a ±3 percent margin of error at a 95 percent confidence level.
