Members of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) have clashed with suspected communist rebels in Batangas.
This comes after government forces discovered a camp set up by suspected New People's Army (NPA) members in Barangay Utod, Nasugbu town on Monday.
An intense firefight followed between soldiers of the PAF's 730th Combat Group and the alleged insurgents.
Government forces were led by Major Engelberto Nioda.
No one was hurt among the soldiers while there were reportedly some casualties on the part of the suspected NPAs.
The military has placed the area on red alert.
