Vice President and presidential aspirant Leni Robredo wants to maximize untapped opportunities for Cebu’s maritime and BPO industries.
“Cebu has too many opportunities in its maritime industries, and that is one of the four industries that we’ll be focusing on,” she said.
If elected, she said she would build enough infrastructure in the area so the industry could flourish.
“We must have a flag-carrying logistics vessel with a global route.
The Philippines could become a global logistics hub,” she said.
She vowed to focus on technology, manufacturing, maritime and climate industries to create more job opportunities.
Over the weekend, Robredo expressed her gratitude for the recognition received by her office for its processes and programs that have encouraged its staff to be excellent public servants and for making the delivery of services to the people more effective and efficient.
“Blessings came thrice for OVP yesterday. First, we were awarded by the Civil Service Commission the PRIME-HRM Level II Accreditation for Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management. Then, two of our programs – Community Learning Hubs and Free Shuttle and Ferry Services for frontliners – were among the 6 Government Best Practices for COVID 19 Response recognized by the Development Academy of the Philippines. Last week, we were also awarded our ISO Certification which we have been achieving every year since we first got our ISO Certification in 2017,” Robredo said in a tweet.
PRIME-HRM, or the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management, is a certification given by the CSC to government agencies’ human resource systems that support their employees in achieving excellence.
The OVP was awarded with a Certificate of Recognition by the CSC as the office’s four pillars of human resources met the standards under PRIME-HRM Level II.
The OVP’s Community Learning Hubs and Free Shuttle and Ferry Services for frontliners are programs implemented by the OVP in response to the pandemic with help from the private sector while its ISO certification attests that the office meets internationally accepted quality management standards.
The office has, for the past three years, received the highest audit rating from the Commission on Audit (COA).
