At least 1,000 people from Eastern Visayas benefitted from the feeding programs of the Tingog Party-list group.

The nominee of a party-list group and actress-singer Karla “Mamshie” Estrada has led two of the three feeding program events.

The party-list group launched late this week the feeding program not only to alleviate hunger among the youth but also reduce micronutrient deficiency among them amid the continued devastating effects of the coronavirus disease 2019.

Estrada, the mother of actor and recording artist Daniel Padilla, assured that the Tingog Party-list group headed by siting Rep. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez, who chairs the House Committee on the Welfare of Children, will always work on programs that would benefit the people as many workers lost income as an offshoot of the pandemic.

The group through the help of Southern Leyte Gov. Damian Mercado also distributed three brand new wheelchairs to improve the mobility of Fidel Cadavero and Rosemarie Amaca of Maasin City and Mary Supangan of Sogod town.

Lorena Casio, Tunga-Tunga Barangay Capt. Rizalina Araña and members of her council, aspirants for city council Luzviminda Rosete and Dr. Jovito Segovia; and Engineer and Mrs. Berto Varola, owners of the venue.

Estrada, who hails from Tacloban City, also led Tingog’s feeding program at barangay Tagnipa in Maasin City that benefitted 250 children. She also delivered three wheelchairs that the group gave to persons with disabilities in the locality.

Estrada was also warmly welcomed and assisted in the feeding program in barangay Tagnipa by Southern Leyte Provincial Councilors League President Jonathan Lee Maraon of Padre Burgos town, who represented Governor Mercado; Verano, Doblan, Geniston, Casio, Tagnipa barangay Captain Alfredo Batug Jr. and members of his council, Rosete and Segovia.
