NBI Director Dante A. Gierran identified the suspects as Chen Zhimin, Luo Canfeng, Li Jai Huang, and Wang  Yiping.

Suspects were presented for inquest proceedings before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office for Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention.

Suspects were arrested in an operation which stemmed from the complaint of a Chinese informant working as an offshore gaming employee or online games.

The case arose from the kidnapping and serious illegal detention of Han Yang Liu, offshore gaming employee, who was detained against his will in a hotel located at General Malvar St., Manila. The kidnappers allegedly demanded P200,000 in cash to be personally delivered to the unidentified kidnappers.

With this, an entrapment/rescue operation was conducted resulting in the arrest of the suspects and the rescue of two other victims who were physically maltreated and threatened with death if they could not produce P600,000.

The victims subsequently executed a complaint affidavit against the suspects.
