Marcos now in Berlin for 3-day working visit

Berlin, Germany—President Ferdinand Marcos arrived here in Berlin on Monday (Tuesday morning in Manila) to kickstart his five-day visit to Central Europe.

President Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos arrived at the Berlin Brandenburg International Airport at 9:49 pm local time (4:49 am, Tuesday PH time) onboard Philippine Airlines PR001.

President Marcos and the First Lady received a warm welcome from the Philippine Ambassador to Germany Irene Susan Natividad and select personnel from the Philippine Embassy in Berlin.

The chief executive and his delegation are set for a three-day working visit in Berlin to engage with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and explore collaboration on renewable energy initiatives by the Philippine government.

The President will meet with Germany’s Chancellery on Tuesday morning (Berlin time) and will have a dialogue with various state leaders to strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations.

President Marcos previously expressed the Philippines’ interest in seeking Germany’s support for energy transition, manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, aerospace, innovation, startups, IT-BPM, and minerals processing.

Additionally, the President will connect with the Filipino community in Berlin during his stay.
