Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez thanked nearly 50 members of the House of Representatives from Mindanao who participated Sunday in the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) in Sultan Kudarat.

This was the biggest such event so far since the service flagship program of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. was launched last year.

Romualdez, whom the President is sending to the fair to represent him, said the presence of a large number of House colleagues in the event “demonstrates our unity and determination to serve our people, bring government service directly to them and make life easier and better for them.”

“Today, we stand together in our commitment to uplift every Filipino. Despite our political divergence, our collective aim remains resolute—to construct a Bagong Pilipinas that leaves no one behind,” Romualdez said.

“Our substantial presence here at the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair underscores the broad-based support for President Marcos’s decisive leadership in addressing the country’s most pressing challenges,” he said.

Romualdez was referring to the 45 House members—majority of whom are from Mindanao, calling their presence and support to the administrarion BPSF as  testament to a united Philippines under the leadership of President Marcos.

“This remarkable turnout serves as a resounding testament to the unity and solidarity of Mindanao lawmakers to a united Philippines under the visionary leadership of President Marcos. It sends a powerful message that despite our diverse backgrounds and regional differences, we stand together as one nation, united in our commitment to building a brighter future for all Filipinos,” Romualdez said

“The significant participation of lawmakers from across the political spectrum at the BPSF underscores our unwavering dedication to addressing the needs and aspirations of every Filipino, regardless of geographical location. It reflects our shared determination to promote inclusivity, progress and prosperity for all citizens, especially those in underserved regions like Sultan Kudarat,” the leader of the 300-plus-strong House of Representatives added.

The strong presence of the lawmakers, Romualdez said, serves as a resolute answer to any calls for secession or division within Mindanao.

“By coming together in solidarity, we demonstrate our steadfast rejection of any attempts to undermine the unity and integrity of our nation. We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to upholding the principles of peace, unity and nation-building,” he expressed.

Romualdez stressed that the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair aims to enhance public service delivery, foster community engagement and tackle pressing national issues.

It is a one-stop shop where government agencies in the regions like the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE), and Land Transportation Office (LTO) deliver assistance and service instantly to the people, and where residents can directly transact business with such offices, he added.

The leader of the 310-strong House pointed out that agency officials and knowledgeable personnel would be on hand to attend to the concerns of residents.

Among the Mindanao lawmakers who attended the BPSF in Sultan Kudarat include: Reps. Margarita Nograles, Christian Unabia, Bambi Emano, Lordan Suan, Toto Suansing, Yasser Balindong, Divina Yu, John Flores, Khymer Olaso, Aldu Dujali, Joboy Aquino, Wilter Palma;
