Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD) Usec. Wilfredo Mallari said the participation of private contractors is vital to the success of the government’s Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Housing Program or 4PH.
Mallari further said the government needs the support of private contractors for its housing projects.
The official said the DHSUD has already started the promotion of joint venture agreements (JVAs) and public-private partnerships (PPP) under the government housing program.
The DHSUD said it has been unlocking more partnership opportunities for all stakeholders, particularly private contractors and developers.
DHSUD Secretary Jerry Acuzar has been meeting with officials and members of the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA), Organization of Socialized and Economic Housing Developers of the Philippines (OSHDP), National Real Estate Association Inc. (NREA), and the Chamber of Real Estate and Builders’ Association Inc. (CREBA).
Acuzar earlier said the P12-billion credit line approved by the Pag-IBIG Fund for the National Housing Authority will further bolster the positive momentum of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s 4PH program now being rolled out nationwide.
Acuzar also lauded the Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG Fund for its commitment to support 4PH.
Pag-IBIG has approved back-to-back funding for two key shelter agencies – the Social Housing Finance Corp. and the NHA – to fund housing projects under the Pambansang Pabahay.
“Pag-IBIG’s dedication is a huge boost to bringing the ‘Pambansang Pabahay’ to reality. It continuously opens more doors for Filipino people to own a home that is decent yet affordable in sustainable communities,” Acuzar said.

“This is another solid proof of the Marcos Jr. Administration’s relentless effort to uplift the lives of the poorest of the poor,” he cited.
Pag-IBIG Fund has approved a P12-billion revolving credit line for NHA intended to finance the development of 9,110 housing units with an initial 6,967 homes to be built in Quezon City, Valenzuela City, Zamboanga and San Juan City as part of the 4PH Program.
It earlier approved the P929-million revolving credit line for the SHFC to finance the construction of 2,264 housing units in Pampanga, Manila City, Misamis Oriental and Davao City.
