An Iloilo resident is now P225 million richer, having won the jackpot in the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office’s (PCSO) Mega Lotto 6/45 draw on Friday.

PCSO general manager Melquiades Robles said the lucky bettor’s 14-05-44-25-01-36 combination earned for him the top prize of P225,248,638.

The ticket was bought in Pavia, Iloilo.

The PCSO advised winners that they have one year from the date of the draw to claim their prizes, as specified in Republic Act 1169, the law on PCSO lotteries.

All jackpot prizes must be claimed at the PCSO main office in Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.

Winners must write their names and signature on the back of the winning tickets and present two government-issued identification cards or documents.

Lotto winnings of more than PHP10,000 are subject to 20 percent tax under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.

Meanwhile, 75 others won PHP32,000 each for guessing five out of the six winning digits, while 4,002 will get PHP1,000 each for four correct digits, and 73,108 will settle for PHP30 each for three correct digits.

The 6/45 Mega Lotto is drawn every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

This is the third time this month that a lone bettor won the jackpot.

A lone bettor from Iloilo City became an instant millionaire after they hit the PHP44 million jackpot of the Lotto 6/42 draw on Thursday night while a lone bettor from San Pedro, Laguna bagged the jackpot of PHP55.3 million of the Grand Lotto 6/55 on May 6.

For only PHP20 per ticket, anyone can have the chance to become an instant millionaire as the PCSO urges the public to patronize their games as a large chunk of revenues goes to charity programs
