CAMP VICENTE LIM, Calamba City – Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. has announced the appointment of Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., former Regional Director of Police Regional Office Calabarzon, as acting PNP Director for Comptrollership following the retirement of Maj. Gen. Jesus Cambay on Wednesday.
Brig. Gen. Carlito Gaces has replaced Nartatez as the director of police in the Calabarzon region.
Before his promotion, Gaces served as the Ilocos Region’s Deputy Director of Administration of Police Regional Office 1.
Col. Antonio Marallag Jr., the Ilocos Region’s Deputy head for Operations, has replaced Gaces.
The revamp took effect on April 19th. Major General Robert Rodriguez, the PNP’s Director for Personnel and Records Management, signed the three officers’ designations.
On Monday, Azurin will retire at the age of 56, the mandatory retirement age for police.
