The Quezon City government eyes P50 million yearly revenue from the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 meant to decongest traffic along Epifanio delos Santos Ave. (EDSA) and other arterial roads in the north and south portions of Metro Manila.

In an interview, city treasurer Edgar Villanueva disclosed he has formed a team to start negotiations with the project proponent, Citra Central Expressway Corp.

“We want to let them know that we will impose the corresponding business taxes (on the project),” Villanueva said.

“We expect to collect P50 million per annum or more than that,” he told the Manila Standard,

The Skyway stage 3 project is an 18.30-kilometer elevated expressway from Buendia Ave. in Makati City to the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), with 2×3 lanes from Buendia to Sgt. Rivera St. corner A. Bonifacio Ave., Quezon City, 2×2 lanes from Sgt. Rivera corner A. Bonifacio to NLEX, Balintawak, Quezon City; and 2×3 lanes elevated roadway to the NLEX-South Luzon Expressway Connector Road project in the vicinity of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
