Only 11 out of 100 Filipino voters from the so-called “poorest of the poor or the marginalized” social class will vote for presidential aspirant Leni Robredo if the elections were held between December 7 and December 12, 2021.
In contrast, 46 voters out of every hundred from the same Class E voting sector prefer Bongbong Marcos, according to the latest test polling by OCTA Research, a group of academicians mostly from the University of the Philippines.
Citizens who belong to Class E are those with no homes that they can call their own and usually live on a hand-to-mouth basis, meaning, they are not assured if they will have something to eat by the next meal time.
They are mostly informal settlers who do not have a stable source of income and often rely on government dole-outs to survive.
However, they comprise the majority of voters and their decision to give their support to Marcos indicates that they see him as a symbol of hope.
Even the Class D or the working class expressed support for the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard bearer at 55 percent, while the Class ABC or the economic classes favored him at 63 percent preference votes.
These figures confirm that Filipinos from all classes of society have shown confidence in the unifying leadership of Marcos, as were also shown on surveys conducted by other polling firms where he was rating at more than 50 percent.
As for the other presidential aspirants, Francisco Domagoso received 23 percent preference votes from Class E, followed by Leni Robredo with 11 percent, Manny Pacquiao with six percent, and Panfilo Lacson Jr. with four percent.
For Class ABCD, other aspirants except Marcos have received around 15 percent and below preference votes.
The latest election survey proved that all socio-economic classes believed in his leadership that pushes for economic growth and peace and order in the entire nation.
Previously, Marcos was also the top presidential aspirant receiving more than 50 percent preference votes from surveys conducted by the SWS, Publicus, Kalye Survey, DZRH, RMN, and Pulse Asia.
“Inday” Sara Duterte, Marcos’ running mate, is also the top choice as the next vice president in the said survey as she received 50 percent preference votes.
“The overwhelming figures Bongbong received in the OCTA Research survey humble all of us in the BBM-Sara UniTeam as we all strive to be better in our tasks of meeting the expectations and aspirations of our supporters and the rest of the Filipino people,” lawyer Vic Rodriguez, Marcos’ spokesperson, said.
“We shall not blink, we shall not falter, until every voice is heard through the ballot until every soul is counted on Election Day,” he added.
