Sereno to go on vacation

Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Lourdes Sereno is set to take a vacation next month.

She wants to prepare for the impeachment trial that she expects she will face in the Senate soon.

Sereno's lawyer Attorney Jojo Lacanilao says, her client wants to have enough time to prepare for the proceeding.

The chief justice had been planning to go on a break from March 12 to 23.

But she decided to set the vacation period to an earlier date.

She will now take her leave from March 1 to 15.

Lacanilao stresses Sereno has no plans of resigning.

He says, the chief magistrate has no reason to step down.

Sereno mantains she has not committed any wrongdoing.

She says, she had not violated the constitution.
