9 killed in AFP & NPA clash in Sultan Kudarat

Nine (9) are killed in a battle between the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and suspected New People's Army (NPA).

The clash occured along the boundary of Sultan Kudarat and South Cotabato.

Seven (7) suspected rebels were killed while two soldiers from the 27th Infantry Battalion also died.

The battle took place when about 30 suspected communist insurgents clashed with government forces.

About 10 rebels surrendered to the military.
