The National Bureau of Investigation’s Naga District Office arrested one of the notorious drug pushers in Mabolo, in Naga City last June 12, the agency said on Friday.
The NBI identified the suspect as Richard Estrella, alias Chabo, who operates in towns nearby Naga City.
The latest arrest is in line with the continuing anti-illegal drug campaign of the government, the NBI said.
The NBI said Estrella was arrested in his residence in Mabolo, Naga City by virtue of a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC), Iriga City.
NBI agents also seized several sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or commonly known as shabu and drug paraphernalia, a .38 caliber revolver, several live ammunitions, and bundles of cash believed to be drug money from the sale of the prohibited drug.
Naga City expressed appreciation for the operation of the NBI since the suspect had been a long time problem in their area because of his drug activities.
Also, suspect had been the target of several “tokhang” operations but managed to elude the authorities.
Estrella is currently detained at the NBI Naga District Office and will undergo inquest proceedings before the City Prosecutors Office of Naga City for violation of Section 11, Article II of R.A. 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
