Supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte are holding a rally in Mendiola Street, San Miguel, Manila today.

Some estimates put the number of demonstrators at about 2,000.

The groups are pushing for the establishment of a revolutionary government and the switch to federalism.

Organizers say, a program on a makeshift stage will begin at 3 pm.

Meanwhile, militant groups marched from España Boulevard to Morayta and Recto streets.

They were led by Bagong Alyansang Makabayan.

They failed to assemble at Mendiola due to the presence of pro-Duterte demonstrators.

They avoided tension with the other groups and just proceeded to the direction of Ayala bridge.

Other militant organizations are holding protests at Liwasang Bonifacio.

These events coincide the 154th birth anniversary of hero Andres Bonifacio.
