Palanan, Isabela Mayor Rodolfo Bernardo was killed in a road accident on Thursday night.
He and three other companions were on their way back home from a seminar in Metro Manila when their vehicle fell into a ravine along a national highway in Purok 6, Barangay Sinsayon, Santiago City.

Initial reports say, driver Rhomel Alvarez lost control of the vehicle after its tire exploded.
Alvarez and two passengers sustained minor injuries.
The mayor’s companions were Palanan Municipal Planning Officer Melito Casasola Jr. and Divilacan Municipal Planning Officer Emerson Velarde.
57-year-old Bernardo died of multiple head injuries.
