Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Teodoro Herbosa on Wednesday said government-owned and -controlled (GOCC) hospitals are ready to assist the overcrowded Philippine General Hospital (PGH).
At least 20 hospitals in Metro Manila are on standby and ready to receive patients. These facilities have the capacity to accommodate additional patients and provide essential medical services.
Herbosa assured patients that the Bayad na Bill Mo program is being strictly implemented in the basic accommodating of DOH hospitals, in accordance with the mandate of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“DOH hospitals, as well as the four GOCC hospitals, are open and ready to receive patients who cannot be admitted to UP-PGH due to the temporary overcrowding of its emergency room,” said Herbosa.
“All hospitals, clinics, ambulances, and doctors are advised to refrain from bringing new patients to UP-PGH, and to bring them to DOH hospitals first,” he added.
Patients can be admitted to the following DOH hospitals:
- Dr. Jose Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium in Caloocan City
- Las Pinas General Hospital and Satellite Trauma Center in Las Pinas City
- San Lorenzo Ruiz General Hospital in Malabon City
- National Center for Mental Health in Mandaluyong City
