PH, Czech Republic to explore more partnership opportunities—PBBM

PRAGUE—President Ferdinand Marcos on Thursday said he and Czech Republic’s Petr Pavel vowed to explore more opportunities during their bilateral meeting here.

In his address during the joint press conference, President Marcos bared their discussion to deepen bilateral cooperation and multilateral partnership.

“In my talks with President Pavel, we explored opportunities for future partnerships in trade and investment, agriculture, green economy and renewable energy, space and aerospace, education, tourism, defense, cybersecurity, and labor, among others,” the President said.

To lure in more investments from Prague, President Marcos highlighted the Philippines’ economic performance, citing the increased engagement between the two nations’ respective business sectors.

“I also highlighted to the President the Philippines’ remarkable economic performance, that [makes] it an attractive destination for Czech investments in the areas of IT-BPM, in electronics, manufacturing, food and agriculture, and automotive / EV manufacturing, amongst others,” he added.

Mr. Marcos expressed optimism about attracting more Czech traders and investors to do business in the Philippines due to increased engagement between the two countries’ business sectors.

President Marcos said he also anticipates the 2nd meeting of the Philippines-Czech Republic Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation (JCEC) in Manila later this year.
