Berlin, Germany—President Marcos dismissed former President Rodrigo Duterte’s recent tirades against his trips outside the country, saying his schedules during his working visits do not give him time to stroll.

Asked for his comments on Duterte’s claims, President Marcos said he is not sightseeing during his visits overseas.

Ito ang schedule ko oh, saan ‘yung pasyal? It’s my schedule for today. Where’s the paseo? Wala. You know, kasama ko… We don’t make pasyal, even in the places that I spent a lot of times with, ‘di ko napupuntahan ‘yung mga dati kong pinupuntahan because we’re here to do this,” President Marcos said while showing a paper detailing his schedule here in Berlin.

(Here’s my schedule: where’s the sightseeing part? It’s my schedule for today. Where’s the trip to a plaza? None. You know, with the people I’m with, we don’t explore, even in the places I used to spend a lot of time in. I don’t visit the places I used to go to because we’re here to do this.)

Questioned on Duterte’s remarks that he is in favor of term extension in Charter Change, President Marcos said he would like to review his predecessor’s comment first, citing many inconsistencies in his public statements.

“As to the other comments, na-co-confuse kasi ako kay PRRD, papalit-palit. So, I have to examine it further kasi very quick ko lang narinig ang balita, ang mga remarks,” President Marcos stated.

(As for the other comments, I’m confused about PRRD, he keeps changing [his words]. So, I have to look into it further because I only heard the news very quickly, the remarks.)

Tingnan ko muna ano ba talaga sinabi niya para maintindihan ko kasi ‘di ko talaga naiintindihan, parang naiiba bawat salita niya… Naiiba eh. I will try to make sense (of) it,” he added.

(Let me first see what he really said, so I can understand because I really don’t get it. It’s like every word he says is different… I will try to make sense of it.)

Duterte’s latest attacks on the President came during a recent prayer rally for controversial Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

In that event, Duterte questioned the President’s foreign trips and claimed Mr. Marcos is supporting charter change to extend his term like his late father President Ferdinand Marcos, Sr.
