After drawing flak for the presence of bed bugs at the NAIA Terminals 2 and 3, the Manila International Airport Authority has to contend with another pest problem: a now viral video of a rat running near the ceiling of the NAIA Terminal 3 pre-departure area.
“Hello NAIA, una surot, ngayon naman, may daga sa international departure? ‘Yung totoo?!?!” user Kerb (@Curve251) posted on X yesterday.
Kerb, who was en route to Singapore, said the video was taken at Gate 102 of the international departure area.
“Bakit may daga? Ang una lang namin alam eh, may surot sa NAIA? Nakakagulat, shocking siya,” he said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
Earlier this week, MIAA apologized to the passengers affected by the bed bugs and said a speedy resolution to the infestation should be expected.
Senator Grace Poe said NAIA should conduct a deep cleaning of the airport to ensure it is pest-free.
“We hope there would not be glitches in the planned rehabilitation project of NAIA to rid it of all pests and give passengers only positive experience,” she said.
