President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has named the new general manager and board members of the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA).

The PRA, formerly the Public Estates Authority, was created under Presidential Decree 1084 issued on Feb. 4, 1977, to serve as the clearinghouse for all reclamation projects in the country.

It was designated as the agency primarily responsible for integrating, coordinating, and directing all reclamation projects on behalf of the national government.

The PRA also has the power and authority to develop and dispose of public lands; enter into contracts and loan agreements with private, public, or foreign entities; and exercise the right to eminent domain in the name of the Republic of the Philippines.
