President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. gave his supporters an early Christmas gift on Saturday: A meeting at Malacañang Palace.
Mr. Marcos shared in his official Facebook page several photos taken during the meet and greet event.
“Meeting some of my supporters today is an early gift this Christmas,” he said.
Mr. Marcos expressed gratitude for their continued trust and confidence in him.
He hopes that with the help of people who backed his presidential bid, Filipinos will heed his call for unity.
“We are extremely grateful for your unending support from the very beginning until now,” Marcos posted.
“May you serve as bridge to spread our message of unity for our recovery,” he added.
He acknowledged their vital roles in helping him achieve his goals of bringing progress to the country and giving Mr..Filipinos a comfortable life.
Mr. Marcos also stressed the need to forget about political colors, saying it is more important to focus on addressing the pressing issues confronting the country.
“There is no doubt that you have been able to prove to me and to our countrymen that you love the country and you want to help our fellow Filipinos and the government for the betterment of the country,” he said in his speech.
“Now, we are fighting not for a particular political candidate or a political party, but for the entire Philippines amid the challenges we are facing,” Marcos added.
The President uses various social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, to keep the public updated about his administration’s policies, programs, and activities.
He also regularly uploads a vlog on his official social media accounts to recap his administration’s weekly accomplishments.
