The April 23 global “grand rally,” which will be held in Pasay City and in major cities across the country and around the world, will not be a birthday bash of Vice President Leni Robredo but a celebration of the people’s solidarity in ushering in a government that will truly serve the people, Georgina Hernandez, coordinator of the Robredo People’s Council (RPC), said

“This is not just one person’s natal day. This is about new beginnings for us all. We are not just voting for VP Leni Robredo, we are voting for our children’s future,” Hernandez said.

The group, which has chapters nationwide and in major cities around the world where there are Filipinos, envisioned the event to draw a massive crowd of supporters.

Hernandez also added that RPC chapters nationwide will simultaneously conduct rallies on Robredo’s birthday.

The rally to  be on the stretch of Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, is also a thanksgiving party “not just for one life that is well-lived but for a great campaign that is waged by millions of inspired volunteers.”

Hernandez said the gathering will be “a pep rally” that will send off volunteers as they intensify the “get-out-and-vote drive in the homestretch of the campaign.”

The event has been billed as “a family affair, outing snd day because “several generations in one family are expected to  attend.”

Like all Robredo rallies, most of the participants will come from extended clans that have agreed to vote as one.

She stressed that Robredo has long acknowledged that families have become the bedrock of her support.

Due to this, she said Robredo’s speech will focus on the bright future that awaits the Filipino family if this people’s campaign will win on May 9.

Robredo meanwhile is wooing more voters in Cebu, saying she is confident of winning anew in the vote-rich province.

Robredo and her running mate Senator Francis Pangilinan traveled through 135 kilometers of northern Cebu—Bantayan Island, Bogo City, Tabuelan, Tuburan, Danao City, to Mandaue City, where 150,000 “kakampinks” rejected the local party’s endorsement of ex-senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. With Rio N.
