Motorists should expect pump prices of petroleum products to go up big time in the coming week, according to projections by Unioil Petroleum Philippines.

In its price forecast for the January 18 to 24 trading week, Unioil said the price per liter of diesel may go up by P1.70 to P1.80. Gasoline prices, meanwhile, may increase by P0.90 to P1.00 per liter.

Oil companies usually announce price adjustments every Monday, to be implemented the following day.

Effective Jan. 11, fuel firms hiked gasoline prices by P0.75 per liter and diesel by P1.00 to P1.10 per liter.

Year-to-date adjustments stand at a total net increase of P2.60 per liter for gasoline and P3.50 per liter for diesel.
