A Johnny-come-lately in the auto market, Legado Motors, Inc., the official distributor of GAC Motor in the Philippines, has announced an increase in the prices of its whole vehicle line-up effective March 1.

New player in car industry raises prices

The price increase is being carried out after the Bureau of Customs released a Customs Memorandum Order stating the directive of the Department of Trade and Industry to add more tariff rates on imported vehicles, the company said.

Most of the car companies have announced their respective price hikes as a result of the additional tariff imposed on imported autos.

Starting March 1, Legado Motors, Inc. said it will set a P78,000 price increase on its current vehicle line-up -- the GA4, GS3, GS4, GN8, and the GS8.

With barely a month left before the implementation of the price increase, customers may still avail of the vehicle models at their current prices, Legado Motors said.
