Here’s a recent discovery: Not only do fans love streaming the sci-fi series Stranger Things, they like listening to songs used in the show.

Spotify listeners are obsessed with music from ‘Stranger Things’
Music used in the sci-fi horror series Stranger Things are popular with Spotify listeners.

According to Spotify, listeners have spent more than 17 million hours streaming music related to the Stranger Things, which recently premiered its third season, since its launch on July 15, 2016.

The Clash’s 1981 hit “Should I Stay or I Should I Go” ranks as the most-streamed song tied to the show—from the original soundtrack to the many playlists listeners have created themselves.

The said song played a central role in Season 1 (Will Byers would sing it to calm himself in the Upside Down), and Spotify saw global streams of the song go up 30 percent in the two weeks after Stranger Things premiered compared to the two weeks before.

Speaking of Upside Down, listeners have created more than 3,500 playlists titled “The Upside Down” with the top tracks in these being the eerie score track “The Upside Down” from composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, as well as the instantly-recognizable “Stranger Things” theme track.

And the top three countries that stream the most Stranger Things music are the United States, the United Kingdom, and Mexico.
