The sharing and eating of mooncake—the round, richly flavored, and dense delicacy—is one of the hallmark traditions of Mid-Autumn Festival, the celebration of successful harvest during which food are offered in honor of the moon. 

The hand-crafted delicacy, when shared among family members during the week of the festival signifies the completeness and reunion; it is also known to attract good luck and prosperity. 

In celebration of this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival on Sept. 13, we list down premier establishments offering mooncakes.

Man Ho at Marriott Manila

Marriott Manila’s Man Ho offers mooncakes with white lotus paste or red lotus paste filling. Variants with salted duck egg in the center are also available.

Perfect as presents to clients or relatives, the mooncakes are packaged in a luxurious red box with gold stamping of daisies, symbolizing a peaceful life balance.

Man Ho’s Red Premium Box of 8

The mooncake gift sets are available in a jewelry premium box of six priced at P1,988++, a red premium box of eight at P1,888++, and a two-tier drawer type box of eight at P1,888 nett. Bulk order of 10 gets one free box. Club Marriott members are entitled to a 20 percent discount. The offer runs until Sept 15.

Jasmine at New World Makati

New World Makati Hotel’s premier restaurant Jasmine offers mooncakes in four, premium flavors: Red Bean with Double Yolk, Red Lotus with Double Yolk, White Lotus with Double Yolk, and Five Kernel (watermelon seeds, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, and peanuts).

The mooncakes are encased in elegant orange boxes with blue and gold trimming. They are offered in single boxes up to boxes of 10 with an option to include tea or wine.

A single box is priced at P688 nett, while a box of two is P1,688 nett. A box set of four, with tea, or with wine are offered at P1,888, P2,688, and P2,888 nett, respectively. Boxes of six, eight, and 10 all come with wine and are priced at P3,888, P4,888, and P8,888 nett, respectively. Get 30 percent discount for orders of 80 boxes of four or more.

Resorts World Manila

Resorts World Manila’s delectable mooncakes come in two flavorful fillings—the classic Red Lotus and the Cantonese-style White Lotus. These are available at all signature dining outlets of the integrated resort.

Solaire Resort and Casino

 

The luxury resort and casino celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival with special homemade mooncakes and a set that’s packed in a mini-fridge. 

The traditional Baked Mooncakes come in a box of two and four. Each set of four Baked Mooncakes is packed in a unique music box packaging, it also comes in two variants: the regular box of four, and the premium box of four which includes three special sauces. 

All four variants feature double egg yolk centers complemented by an assortment of rich and flavorful pastes.

Solaire’s Baked Mooncake with ube paste and double egg yolk

For a little quirkier gift, Snow Skin Mooncakes—made with fruits, nuts, and spirits—come in a set of five placed in a miniature fridge.

These homemade mooncakes are available at Red Lantern, House of Zhou, Oasis Garden Café, Fresh, The Patisserie, and The Food Court’s Bakery. Prices start at P2,300 for a box of two Baked Mooncakes, P3,900 for a box of four Baked Mooncakes, P5,300 for a premium box of four Baked Mooncakes with Red Lantern Special Sauces, and P3,600 for a set of five Snow Skin Mooncakes including a small chiller.

TWG Tea

Contemporary while maintaining the core essence of baked mooncake, TWG Tea features a selection of traditional mooncakes with novel flavors.

Constellation, TWG Tea’s signature mooncake features brown lotus filling infused with Singapore Breakfast Tea, roasted melon seeds, and salted egg yolk center. Jewel mooncake showcases an aromatic Chocolate Tea-infused brown lotus paste sprinkled with chocolate chips and crumble, wrapped in a sumptuous baked chocolate crust. 

Harvest is a decadent mooncake encased in a lavish, black crust with a luxurious Mistral Tea and lemongrass-infused white lotus filling, enveloping a refreshing strawberry almond paste heart. While Moonlight features a rich and smooth white lotus paste infused with Matcha, contrasted by an Amarena cherry heart.

TWG Tea’s Pure snow skin mooncake

Also available are four tea-infused snow skin mooncakes: Pure (white lotus paste with Moon Route Tea), Blossom (Geisha Blossom Tea-infused white lotus filling), Illumination (brown lotus paste with Earl Grey Fortune), and Serenity (Lemon Bush Tea-infused brown lotus filling)

A set of four tea-infused traditional and snow skin mooncakes retails at P2,050 and P2,488, respectively. An individual gift box retails at P398 for tea-infused traditional mooncake and P498 for tea-infused snow skin mooncake.
