Casio Computer Co., Ltd. through its Philippine distributor, CSC Time, Inc., recently launched the latest addition to G-shock’s lineup of functional yet stylish watches.
The special edition, Master of G Mudman or GW-9500TLC-1. G-Shock and Team Land Cruiser (TLC) Toyota Auto Body, a racing team, join forces once more, cementing a legendary partnership built on years of support.
The entire design of the collab timepiece expresses the spirit of challenge that defines TLC, a veteran of Dakar Rally which is considered the toughest race in the world. The watch is based on the earlier edition of MUDMAN GW-9500, a sturdy piece of outdoor gear known for delivering in the most punishing conditions.
The launch held at the G-Shock store in SM Megamall was graced by personalities including celebrities Ronnie Alonte and Loisa Andalio, TV host Martin Javier, social media influencer Kevin Ty, motorsports racing driver and model Gaby dela Merced, along with actors JC Galano, Fino Rufino, Jome Silayan, and Will Devaugh. They all came with G-Shock watches integrated into their outfits, adding an extra touch of flair to their overall look.
According to Isabella Concepcion, Business Development Head of CSC Time, Casio is honored to collaborate with the Toyota Land Cruiser Autobody once again.
“This latest offering perfectly represents the characteristics of a G-Shock [IC12] wearer: resilient, strong, and ready to face any challenges,” Concepcion said.
“They are designed to be tough, durable, and reliable. On top of the high-quality resin, they are also made of stainless steel and sapphire crystal so you can be assured that a G-Shock timepiece is long-lasting,” she added.
The Mudcaster GW-9500TLC-1 draws inspiration from the Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport, TLC’s rally car. The watch features a black and red color scheme with an ion-plated metal bezel and red accents, reflecting the toughness needed to conquer the grueling 10,000-kilometer Dakar Rally course.
The sand-colored band with a black splatter pattern reminds the wearer of the desert landscape, while the Team Land Cruiser logo adorns the band and case back. The watch even features a TLC graphic displayed on the LCD screen when illuminated.
G-Shock remains committed to environmental responsibility. The Mudcaster GW-9500TLC-1 utilizes bio-based resin for key components and recycled materials in its special packaging.
Despite its slimmer profile, the Mudcaster GW-9500TLC-1 boasts exceptional durability with a multi-component structure, independent front button, and carbon core guard. The watch is also mud-resistant with large, easy-to-operate buttons designed to keep out dirt and debris.
This limited edition watch is equipped for any outdoor adventure. It features a triple sensor (compass, barometer/altimeter, thermometer), multi-band 6 radio control for accurate timekeeping, solar power, and a high-brightness LED backlight for enhanced readability in low-light conditions.
