Mayor Toby Tiangco and Rep. John Rey Tiangco on Wednesday led the groundbreaking for the construction of the improved Navotas Polytechnic College.

The new NPC will feature a 4-storey building with 28 classrooms, nine laboratories, a library, gym, and study areas.

It will also house medical and dental clinics, a canteen, as well as outdoor sports and activity areas.

"NPC was built almost three decades ago. It is high time that we upgrade its facilities to make it more conducive for learning, improve the overall school experience of our students and teachers, and help enhance its delivery of quality education," Mayor Tiangco said.

"Our city government puts premium on education because we believe in its power to transform lives. We want Navoteño youth to have free access to high-quality tertiary learning and be able to gain the knowledge and develop the skills and character they need to succeed in life," he added.

Meanwhile, Rep. Tiangco assured that the local government will always push for projects and programs essential to the welfare of every Navoteño family.

"Long before the enactment of the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, NPC has already provided tuition-free learning. We offered scholarships to ease the financial burden of students and enable them to complete their schooling," he said. Jun David
