The City Government of Navotas recently distributed cash incentives to this year’s graduates in public elementary and senior high schools.
Of this number, 3,810 were Grade 6 students and 2,067 were Grade 12 completers. They received P500 and P1,000, respectively.
“We want to honor and show our appreciation to our graduates for pursuing their education, especially despite the challenges of the pandemic. The past school years have been difficult, but they persevered with the help and guidance of their parents and teachers,” Mayor John Rey Tiangco said.
Meanwhile, graduates of the Navotas Polytechnic College will also receive P1,500 in August.
Navotas started giving graduation incentives in 2019 in accordance with City Ordinance 2019-3.
“We hope that through this incentive, our students will be motivated to finish their schooling or help them in their pre-employment needs,” Tiangco added. Jun David
