Access to safe drinking water is a priority in the aftermath of calamities such as typhoons. When Typhoon Ulysses ravaged Isabela, displacing around 2,500 residents, ARC Refreshments Corporation (ARC) immediately responded by donating cases of Alon bottled water along with 1.5 liters of soda products.

Private sector participation of companies like ARC is crucial in helping mitigate the detrimental effects of calamities as well as improve the situation of disaster survivors by providing for their immediate needs. ARC employees personally delivered the donations to the towns of Cauayan City, Tamauini, and Ilagan City in Isabela.

TYPHOON AID. ARC and employees of its Isabela plant distribute cases of bottled water and soda products to residents affected by Typhoon Ulysses in Isabela.

“We are committed to providing assistance for communities in times of crisis. We embrace our responsibility in lending a helping hand to our fellow Filipinos severely affected by Typhoon Ulysses,” said ARC EVP-COO Manny Perez.

ARC has actively engaged in corporate social responsibility programs since 2012 and always supported communities affected by disasters, among other philanthropic endeavors.

“Our business is anchored on putting value in everything we do; be it producing quality products, cultivating meaningful business relationships, or embracing social responsibility,” Perez shared.

Since the start of this year, the company has involved itself in various charitable activities that address the immediate needs of the Filipino people during calamities. Last January, ARC also helped the Taal Volcano eruption victims in Batangas.

Its donation of 1,900 cases of beverages prompt relief to evacuees in the Department of Science and Technology area in Tagaytay City, Batangas City Stadium, Bauan Technical High School, Alitagtag Police Station, and the St. Padre Pio Shrine in Sto. Tomas.

When the pandemic hit the country, ARC again heeded the call for a united front against COVID-19 with a series of events that aim to promote safety, inspire cooperation, and encourage people to donate to COVID-related causes through its #RCColaborate and Grow as One campaigns.

It also distributed drinks to frontliners posted in different areas as well as the stranded students of Dualtech Training Center

“The company’s driving spirit is firmly rooted on Filipino pride, resilience and the value of bayanihan. The motivation to help is second nature in the way we do business,” explained Perez.
