City of San Fernando—Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda has praised two employees of the province who returned P200,000 in cash to the owner of the paper bag who left it at the comfort room of the provincial capitol building here Monday.
“Sa hirap ng buhay ngayon, pinatunyan ng dalawang kawani ng Kapitolyo ang kanilang pagiging mabuti at honest,” Pineda said in lauding Jason Jimenez, 43, and Kailo Enrile, both members of the Civil Security Unit (CSU) at the Capitol building.
Both men reported the paper bag with cash to the Office of the Governor.
“Nangibabaw pa rin ang habilin sa atin ng mahal nating governor na pangalagaan ang gamit na makikita sa loob ng Kapitolyo. Ang pera madaling makita pero ang tiwala ng mga tao mahirap hanapin,” Jimenez, a casual employee of the capitol, told reporters.
Jimenez and Enrile, a job-order worker, were doing their rounds at the capitol building when they saw a white paper bag in one of the cubicles of the men’s CR situated at the ground floor past 11 a.m.
They turned over the bag to Office of the Governor, where the bills were counted. The bag contained P200,000 worth of cash and receipts of the owner for his quarry business.
The bag owner, Reynaldo Carlos, claimed his money on Monday, an hour after he accidentally left the bag.
The governor said Jimenez and Enrile set good examples among Capitol employees.
As a gesture of their goodness, both employees were recommended to be included on the list of regular and casual employees, said Amy Bondoc, head of the Human Resources Management Office (HRMO).
Bondoc said she recommended the immediate hiring of both men as regular employees for showing honesty.
