TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan -The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 02 (DSWD FO2) launched its first-ever Media Forum on March 16, 2023, in Hotel Carmelita in this city, with the goal of bringing media professionals closer to the government’s programs and initiatives.
The forum aims to strengthen relationships and raise media partners’ awareness of the Field Office’s accomplishments in 2022 and its plans for the coming year.
Regional Director Lucia Suyu-Alan acknowledged the media professionals’ work as informational engines.
“The media plays a crucial role in society by providing timely and pertinent information, and over the years, they have partnered with us to support our projects.,” RD Alan stressed.
Meanwhile, Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Regional Director Angely Lubo-Mercado responded by expressing their willingness to collaborate with the division.
As the government’s information arm, we are enthusiastic about this attempt to bring the media together in one place. This demonstrates your willingness for transparent government and we urge each of you to carry out this mandate.”
Undersecretary for Operations Jerico Francis Javier said: “With the initiative of Field Office 2 in bringing all of you here today, we hope that the forum will advance our collaboration,” as we continue to serve our clientele, we anticipate your support.
Assistant Secretary for Specialized Programs Florentino Loyola Jr. along with RD Alan and USec Javier address queries and explain the concerns of the practitioners on the implementation of programs and services of the DSWD department.
