GenTri elders receive P100K

GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite—Two centenarians here received their P100,000 cash benefit from the national government when personnel of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 4A visited them in their respective residences in neighboring Barangay Tejero and San Juan 2.

Jevelle Tobongbanua, Cavite Social Pension Coordinator of DSWD Region IV-A, and GenTri CWSD officer Benky Generoso personally awarded the cash grant to Juana Amores Tagle of Barangay Tejero and Gertrudes Colorado Senaris at their respective houses.

Tagle was born Dec. 14, 1914 and is now 102 years old, while Senaris, born last March 17, 1916, is 101.

The two centenarians also received P50,000 in cash from the local government here through the City Council resolution recognizing residents who become centenarians “as inspiration to the younger city folks,” according to Councilor Jowie Carampot, chairman of the committee on the elderly.

General Trias Mayor Antonio “Ony” Ferrer also grants P5,000 cash to senior citizens who reach 80 years old and P10,000 to those who reach 90 years old.
