The City of Makati has no right to accuse Taguig of trespassing or land grabbing.

This was the reaction made by the local government of Taguig to the accusation of Makati saying its traffic management personnel forcibly entered the Makati Park and Garden situated at the villages now under the jurisdiction and control of Taguig.

“It would be better for Mayor Abby Binay to give way to the peaceful governance of Taguig instead of continuing to carry anger over the defeat in the case against Taguig and the loss of the 10 EMBO barangays,” the Taguig City government said in a statement released on Saturday.

Last Friday, the Makati City government stated that it foiled the attempt of Taguig personnel to forcibly enter Makati Park and Garden.

“They want to seize properties they do not own. They want to indulge themselves in the investments made by the city government of Makati that were funded by the taxes of the citizens of Makati,” Makati said.

Makati Park and Garden is situated in Barangays West Rembo and Cembo, which were previously under Makati City’s jurisdiction.

In September 2022, the Supreme Court rejected Makati’s Motion for Reconsideration assailing the High Court’s 2021 decision that ruled that Fort Bonifacio Military Reservation, consisting of parcels 3 and 4, psu-2031, including the ten EMBO barangays, was part of the
territory of Taguig City.

The EMBO barangays include the villages of Cembo, Comembo, Pembo, East Rembo, West Rembo, South Cembo, Pitogo, Post Proper Northside, Post Proper Southside, and Rizal.
