Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan led the launching of the online payment system for business and real property taxes in Caloocan in partnership with GCash this Monday, September 5, during the city’s regular flag-raising ceremony.
Caloocan City taxpayers can now pay in the comfort of their own homes at caloocancity.gov.ph under the Online Services-Assessments and Payments drop-down menu. Select ‘Gcash’ as the payment method and enter the amount to be paid. A text message shall be sent to the registered mobile number as payment confirmation.
According to the Mayor, this aims to improve the ease of doing business and paying taxes in Caloocan, as this will encourage more investors and residents to pay on time.
“Kung gaano kaganda at kaayos ang ating City Hall, sisikapin nating ayusin rin ang mga transaksyon sa loob nito para mahikayat ang mas marami pang negosyante at ang ating mga kababayan na magbayad ng buwis sa oras,” he said.
He also emphasized that this alternative payment system is safer and more convenient, especially for those who are working on weekdays, senior citizens, and the general population amid the pandemic.
“Mas madali, walang pila at hindi na kailangang umabsent o mag-leave ng mga nagtratrabaho para magbayad ng buwis, lalo na sa mga senior citizens natin na nagtyatyagang pumunta pa sa City Hall. Mas ligtas ang online payment para sa lahat dahil naiiwasan nating makisalamuha sa ibang tao,” Mayor Along remarked.
City Treasurer Analiza Mendiola stated that this is in line with the Mayor’s directive during his inaugural speech to provide online options for government transactions. She likewise assured taxpayers that they shall receive a soft copy of their receipt via email and they can provide their home address and details for the delivery of the hard copy.
“Bahagi po ito ng direktiba ni Mayor Along sa City Treasury Department na ayusin, paunlarin ang ating mga sistema at gawing online. Sa mga magbabayad naman po ng buwis gamit ng GCASH, makakatanggap po kayo ng soft copy ng resibo sa inyong email address at kung kailangan niyo ng hard copy, mag-reply lang po kayo ng inyong address at detalye para maipadala po natin ito,” she said.
Taxpayers can also monitor their transaction history, with detailed accounts of their payments. Also, owners can register their new businesses, submit requirements and pay the registration fees through the same link.
