Sustainable solutions

The global packaging industry is working with governments and industries to develop more sustainable solutions for the region’s solid waste issues. During the ProPak Vietnam 2024 international trade event, World Packaging Organization (WPO) board director for the Philippines Paolo Buñag cites a United Nations (UN) report on waste management in ASEAN countries showing that organic waste represents the highest fraction of municipal solid waste (MSW) in all ASEAN countries except Singapore.
