Digital shift

PLDT Inc. chairman Manuel Pangilinan underscores the need to have a robust pool of IT professionals which is key to propelling the Philippines’ digitization plans. Speaking at the media launch for the Philippine Digital Convention 2022, Pangilinan says the basic prerequisite to power the country’s digital shift is connectivity and infrastructure, with PLDT investing about $10 billion over the past ten years in its networks. He also points out the importance of having trained professionals and the availability of teachers to produce tech graduates, such as software engineers and programmers.
