Solar-powered plant

The Metro Manila Development Authority recently unveiled the Solar-Powered Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) beside the Manila Yacht Club (MYC). At the inauguration and the unveiling of the historical marker are (from left) Fr. Efren Tawagan, who officiated the blessing ceremonial, MYC Commodore Robert Lim Joseph, Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu, MMDA Chair Danilo Lim, and Jackie Rodriquez, immediate past president of Rotary Club of Manila. The STP can process 500,000 liters of dirty water a day from the outfalls of Remedios, Padre Faura and Estero de San Antonio Abad in Manila so that only clean water will reach Manila Bay.
