House Majority Leader and Cornell Club of the Philippines president Martin Romualdez (left) hands over a simple token of gratitude and appreciation to fellow Cornellian Dr. Emil Javier (right), recently conferred by President Rodrigo Duterte a National Scientist Award in Malacañang Palace for his promising contributions to the scientific community. Javier is a former president of the University of the Philippines (1993-1999), a former Chancellor of UPLB (1979-1985), UPLB’s 17th National Scientist and a PhD in plant breeding and genetics from Cornell University.
