Astara Philippines said Thursday it reached its sales target of 2,000 units in 2023, up 378 percent from 2022.

“This achievement not only sets another record for the brand but also underscores GAC’s growing popularity among car buyers in the Philippine market. Our record-breaking sales growth has been further bolstered by the expansion of our dealer network which stands at 20 outlets strategically positioned across the nation,” said Astara Philippines managing director Raoul Piccelo Wednesday night.

He said the company took immense pride in being a leading force in automotive distribution and mobility services.

Globally, Astara supports the distribution of its three brands – the Peugeot, GAC and JMC across 19 countries in three continents.

“Our goal is to enable millions worldwide to move wisely in a free, personal, and sustainable manner. Astara continues to achieve global growth, and the Philippines has contributed to this, emerging as a strategic market, furthering our footprint and expansion into Asia,” Piccelo said.

Since 2021, Astara in the Philippines has achieved consistent growth, introducing new brands to its portfolio. It has acquired the rights to distribute GAC in the country.

GAC brand head Franz Decloedt said the company would bring in six new models in 2024.

“These new models are poised to inject fresh energy into our product line-up, each bringing its own distinctive features and innovations that cater to a diverse range of preferences and needs,” he said.

GAC will also expand its presence to 35 locations across the country, ensuring that the GAC brand reaches every Filipino.

The brand is set to unveil two new multi-purpose vehicles (MPV) – the M8 and the M6 Pro – in the first quarter of 2024.
