The Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities expressed support to the call of the Department of Energy for Manila Electric Co. to open the competitive selection process to more power suppliers.
“In adherence to the prescribed spirit of free and fair competition, both existing and new power plants should be allowed to join Meralco’s upcoming bidding for a 1,200-megawatt power supply agreement (PSA),” said ICSC senior policy advisor Pedro Maniego Jr. in a statement.
