Globe Telecom Inc. said Tuesday it will deliver first-world network for its subscribers after the completion of massive upgrades by 2021.
“We are undertaking a massive network upgrade to build a first-world network that can deliver a reliable and consistent experience to power all of our customers’ digital,“ Globe president and chief executive Ernest Cu said during this year’s Wonderful World of Globe conference.
Cu said the massive network upgrades would be completed next year.
“We are accelerating cell site builds nationwide to expand coverage and increase data capacity,” Cu said, adding that Globe was making 4G/LTE the standard of mobile access in the country by upgrading all its sites, while speeding up the availability of 5G where it matters.
“We are also fast-tracking fiber rollout to Filipino homes to expand wired data connectivity, especially at this time when the Filipino has become a place of work, learning, and business,” he said.
