Light Rail Manila Corp., the operator of Light Rail Transit Line 1, said it appointed Juan Alfonso, a former executive of Aboitiz Group as its new president effective Dec. 1, replacing Rogelio Singson who will step up as a board director.
Alfonso has more than 25 years of working experience in different industries in the Philippines and the United States. Prior to joining LRMC, he served as the chief operating officer of Aseagas Corp., a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power Corp.
Alfonso also served as the senior vice president of the corporate services of AP Renewables Inc. of Aboitiz Power where he was responsible for accounting, finance, legal, HR and atrategy. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from the Ateneo de Manila University and a Masters in Business Administration (cum laude) from F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
LRMC said it expressed profound gratitude for the dedication and hard work of Singson under whose leadership LRMC passed the certifications to ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015.
