Eastern Communications said Tuesday it earmarked P1.15 billion for 2024 capital expenditures (capex) to strengthen its nationwide network and expand its enterprise product offerings.

Aileen Regio, co-coordinator of Eastern Communications, said the expansion aimed to close the digital divide by delivering internet access to underserved communities.

“These developments are driven by the company’s commitment to national connectivity, economic growth, and digital inclusion,” Regio said.

“Eastern Communications anticipates its expanded presence to catalyze economic development, improve access to essential services, and empower local businesses in its target regions,” she said.

Eastern Communications’ capex in 2024, higher than P1.04 billion in 2023, aims to augment efforts into more sites and business hubs while also continuing its network infrastructure improvements and restoration across the country.
