Philippine stocks ended Tuesday in positive territory even as the market lost most of the gains in the morning as investors turned cautious before the closing bell.

The 30-company Philippine Stock Exchange index inched up by 7.35 points, or 0.11 percent, to close at 6,879.50, while the broader all-shares index rose 5.59 points, or 0.16 percent, to 3,580.31

Philstocks Financial Inc. research analyst Mikhail Plopenio said while the investors cheered the positive data on foreign direct investments, they remained cautious ahead of the February inflation data in the US.

Value turnover reached P5.1 billion, as foreign investors were net buyers by P348.224 million.
